My neighbor in apartment accused my husband of doing something?

She said a few days ago he let in a soliciator at 8pm and she asked if i knew about it.. i told her no not at all because i work a night shift job. I confronted my husband and he told me his side of the story which was he never let anybody in the apartment but when he went to take out garbage a Grubhub driver was asking him if he has $3.50. According to my neighbors story she was scared of the man and she mentioned he was black (like it matters) but shes someone who looks to be in her late 60s. I dont know who to believe.

What should I do? Should I believe this? I told my neighbor i will make sure he doesnt do that again but she said “its okay no worries” or something like that (i was leaving to go to work which i am here waiting for my shift to start :/)

This is a neighbor who lives on the second floor. We live on the first floor.

Update:

I wouldnt know... i barely talk to my neighbors. My husband has a day job and im out by 4pm most days to go to mine

Update 2:

She didnt say she looked out the window. Im confused with all of this. I barely see my neighbors only rarely they never leave their apartments or arent home when I am home

What exactly is it she accused your husband of doing?  Letting what she thinks might have been a solicitor into the house at 8 p.m.?  There's no law against that.

She could not have possibly known what job the visitor had.

    What's a soliciator and what's a Grubhub driver?

What was the $3.50 all about?Did your husband order some grub hub? Was he volunteering change, if so, why? The story doesn't add up. But my initial impression is that if you and your hubby are doing okay, ignore this nosy neighbor who appears to have too much time on her hands.

Your husband isn't allowed to have visitors in while you're not home? I'm confused as to what this neighbor's stance is. Not allowed to speak to anyone on the street when he carries out the garbage? I'm confused as to how what your husband does is any of her business. What is it you assured her that you'd make sure your husband never does again?

Not enough info. Did she look out the window, see your husband talking to this Grubhub man and jump to all sorts of conclusions. Did the Grubhub man wait at the front door while your husband went to get $3.50, and she assumed the man walked inside. You would need to get more info from her, but based on what you wrote, my guess is she was jumping to conclusions.

sounds like your neighbor is a stereotypical old white lady who doesn't like black ppl
