Should I go to Tufts University or UC Davis?
I am trying to pick where to go to school and I have to decide between tufts university and uc davis. I live in southern california so uc davis would be significantly cheaper but my parents are able to pay for either school. I can't tour colleges because of coronavirus so I thought I would give this a shot!

If giving "this a shot": means asking strangers here to help you make a decision, I'm quite sure no one has been to either school. If, by chance, anyone has, they still cannot make that decision for you. While you cannot take a physical, in-person tour now, you can take a virtual tour online. You can also make a list of the pros and cons of each school, paying particular attention to their academic ratings and other relevant categories.

If your main goal is to party and wind up with a diploma Davis probably better. If you can stand the cold and are interested in intellectual things like art, music, books, etc you will like Boston better.

Good question to ask. There are many sides to the equation. But there are three ways of looking at this.
A. your personal life. UC Davis and surrounding and activities are drastically different than Tufts University.
B. Alumni - this was my deciding factor. Tufts boasts of some great alumni in the relevant fields. So does UC Davis. But Tufts has a larger alumni pool. And that alumni pool helps in connecting and getting jobs.
C. Financials - what is giving you a better ride.

What's your intended major, career goals, etc? Did you google-search university rankings overall and for your intended field before you applied? Which is the better school in your intended field?
One good thing about going to school farther from home is that it more likely forces you to become more self-reliant, more independent a lot faster. And it exposes you to a far wider world, a great new adventure.

UCDavis. It is cheaper. Much easier, faster and cheaper to get home for breaks and holidays.
A great school. Although large, a nice campus. Love Davis. A great little town. Good public transportation to campus if you move off campus. If you have a car there are plenty of places to visit within an hour or two. Short weekend trips. You can take the train to San Francisco.

There are a few things I’d do if I were you. First, determine what’s most important to you. Do you want the best quality of academics? Would you rather spend your weekend nights partying or studying? Do you want good-quality dining hall food? You should establish what’s most important to you and pick a college.
For me, one of my top priorities was I wanted to go to a school with great academics, and so I applied to UMass Amherst. I was unsure if I’d get in, but I did. That school was the most prestigious school I got into. I ultimately committed there because you can have a lower-quality education in a more prestigious university, but you can’t have a higher-quality education in a so-so university.
Living in Colorado through my sophomore year of high school, I can tell you that Boston isn’t as cold as people make it to believe. It will take some getting used to, especially when it comes to the occasional snowfall.

I'm from New Jersey, and when I toured Tufts, the only thing I remember was that it was Really. Cold. Like unbearable. I don't think someone from southern California could stand it.
