    Who Goes to Hell?

EVERYONE who dies in this system of things.

Both the Hebrew word and the Greek word as used in God's word denotes the 'common grave for all mankind'

Be it in a literal grave or tomb, those 'buried at sea' and those left to become dust again who haven't a formal burial.

It is from this hell, the Bible promises a resurrection, a standing up, a returning to life.

What about those who do not receive a resurrection, they go not to hell, but to 'gehenna' or the 'lake of fire'.

This is not a place of torment, but a place of eternal death or destruction.

Revelation calls the 'lake of fire' the 'second death' or a death without the hope of a resurrection.

[to be continued, when I have more time.]

Let's look at some of the other's comments:

"The rabbinic schools of Shammai and Hillel taught exactly what Jesus spoke of in Lk 16: beyond the grave (Hebrew qe'ver) is sheol - a holding place for the departed spirits of the deceased,"

These are the schools to whom Jesus told his disciples:

“. . .So you have made the word of God invalid because of your tradition. 7 You hypocrites, Isaiah aptly prophesied about you when he said: 8 ‘This people honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far removed from me. 9 It is in vain that they keep worshipping me, for they teach commands of men as doctrines.’”” (Matthew 15:6-9)

One must ask oneself, WHEN did the Jews start teaching the idea of an immortal soul AND WHERE did this teaching come from?

    http://www.jewishencyclopedia.com/articles/8092-im...

    IMMORTALITY OF THE SOUL

(late Hebrew, "hasharat ha-nefesh"; "ḥayye 'olam"):

    By: Kaufmann Kohler

"The belief that the soul continues its existence after the dissolution of the body is a matter of philosophical or theological speculation rather than of simple faith, and is accordingly nowhere expressly taught in Holy Scripture."

[Thus this teaching is a 'speculation' and not taught in Holy Scripture.]

"The belief in a continuous life of the soul, which underlies primitive Ancestor Worship and the rites of necromancy, practiced also in ancient Israel (I Sam. xxviii. 13 et seq.; Isa. viii. 19; see Necromancy), was discouraged and suppressed by prophet and lawgiver as antagonistic to the belief in Yhwh, the God of life, the Ruler of heaven and earth, whose reign was not extended over Sheol until post-exilic times "

"The belief in the immortality of the soul came to the Jews from contact with Greek thought and chiefly through the philosophy of Plato, its principal exponent, who was led to it through Orphic and Eleusinian mysteries in which Babylonian and Egyptian views were strangely blended,"

[Thus it wasn't until after the Jews returned from Babylon did the Jews start believing in the false teaching of a conscience place of awaitment.  Where did this teaching come from? Babylon.]

Another wrong statement provided by the commenter is:

"They [Jehovah's Witnesses] do not believe in the Christ of the Bible."

We believe exactly what Peter taught:

“16 Simon Peter answered: “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.”” (Matthew 16:16)

“3 Praised be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, for according to his great mercy he gave us a new birth to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,” (1 Peter 1:3)

“22 “Men of Israel, hear these words: Jesus the Naz·a·reneʹ was a man publicly shown to you by God through powerful works and wonders and signs that God did through him in your midst, just as you yourselves know.” (Acts 2:22)

So if Jehovah's Witnesses are wrong, then so is Peter.

    Next her comment:

"They do not even believe Ecclesiastes 12:7"

This is so wrong it barely deserves a reply. But she fails to understand

Eccl 12:7 is the reverse of Gen 2:7

“7 And Jehovah God proceeded to form the man out of dust from the ground and to blow into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man came to be a living soul.” (Genesis 2:7)

“7 Then the dust returns to the earth, just as it was, and the spirit [footnote NASB breath] returns to the true God who gave it.” (Ecclesiastes 12:7)

Please notice how other Bibles translate Eccl 12:7

–NAB "the life breath returns to God who gave it"

-NET "the life’s breath returns to God who gave it"

Notice what this reference work states:

Interpreter’s Bible: “Koheleth (the writer of Ecclesiastes) does not mean that man’s personality continues to exist.”

Psa 146:4 (KJV) His breath* goeth forth, he returneth to his earth; in that very day his thoughts perish. (*H7307) NASB “spirit*(*H7307)”

It is not a spirit person who returns to God, but the breath of life who gives man life, that returns.

The she admits those in Sheol is where the dead are, but she rejects the inspired text that tell us, 'those in Sheol are without knowledge, are not conscience, without love.

Her description doesn't come from God's word, but from the false stories of Babylon, Persia, Greece and Rome.

Why does she turn a blind eye to the truth of God's word?  Only she can answer.

Why she spreads misinformation about Jehovah's Witnesses and the Bible, again only she can answer.

Jehovah's desire is she return to him, for he forgives in a large way.

    "Then He will also say to those on His left, `Depart from Me, accursed ones, into the eternal fire which has been prepared for the devil and his angels;

"These will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life."

    Matt 25:41,46

Were there not everlasting suffering there would be absolutely no point nor reason for Christ to come and suffer so greatly to save from that.

Why are .people so unbelievably unthinking?

We know why the Jehovah's Witness  cult is unthinking, peddling their lies for recruitment.

And then there is "Tartarus". But read Revelation for the application.

The fact of the matter: all tribes and nations will go to hell, if they are not saved by God The Lord Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior.

You can thank Jesus for the fiery hell we all know and love.

Hell is eternal conscious torment and you need to get away from the JW cult. Also, quit using the corrupt NWT and start using the KJV instead.

JW is a non-Christian cult that denies fundamental Bible doctrines such as the deity of Christ, the Trinity, salvation by grace alone through faith alone in Christ alone, bodily resurrection, and eternal torment in the lake of fire for unbelievers. There is nothing remotely "Christian" about JW. Get away from them before it's eternally too late.

Because we have all sinned against a perfectly holy and righteous God, we all deserve eternal separation from God in hell (Rom. 6:23). However, God loves us so much that He sent His only Son Jesus to die on the cross as our Substitute so we don't have to go to hell. Christ died for our sins, was buried, and rose from the grave three days later (1 Cor. 15:3-4). He gives eternal life freely to anyone who simply believes in Him for it. No one can be saved by doing good works. Salvation is by grace alone through faith alone in Christ alone (Eph. 2:8-9).

"Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me hath everlasting life" (John 6:47).

Probably those who think that hell is just a grave, and not the eternal fiery torment it is described as throughout the NT.  "Those" would include groups like the JWs.

It's not so much that they would go to hell for having such a dumb belief, but rather if they misunderstand something in the Bible so plain as what is taught about hell, they most likely misunderstand a lot of stuff, including things related to obtaining salvation.

Jud 1:7  just as Sodom and Gomorrah and the surrounding cities, which likewise indulged in sexual immorality and pursued unnatural desire, serve as an example by undergoing a punishment of eternal fire.

I mean what part of "a punishment of eternal fire" are they struggling with?

The fact that the King James Version translates the one Hebrew word Sheol three different ways shows that hell, grave and pit mean one and the same thing. And if hell means the common grave of mankind, it could not at the same time mean a place of fiery torture. Well, then, do Sheol and Hades mean the grave, or do they mean a place of torture?

Hebrew word Sheol and the Greek word Hades mean the same thing. This is shown by looking at Psalm 16:10 in the Hebrew Scriptures and Acts 2:31 in the Christian Greek Scriptures, which verses you can see on the next page. Notice that in quoting from Psalm 16:10 where Sheol occurs, Acts 2:31 uses Hades. Notice, too, that Jesus Christ was in Hades, or hell. Are we to believe that God tormented Christ in a hell of fire? Of course not! Jesus was simply in his grave.

The rabbinic schools of Shammai and Hillel taught exactly what Jesus spoke of in Lk 16: beyond the grave (Hebrew qe'ver) is sheol - a holding place for the departed spirits of the deceased, that has two compartments until the Day of Resurrection. Jesus agreed entirely with that. Jesus gave many warnings about the need to do everything possible to avoid ending up in hell. Yet some ignore how He chastised religious hypocrites, asking how they could flee from hell. If hell was just the common grave, then what Jesus said in Matthew 23 is pure nonsense (as also in Mt 5:21-30, 10:26-28, 13:40-43, 18:7-9, 23:33, 25:4).

We should be rebuking JWs for rubbishing what Jesus taught about hell. They do not believe in the Christ of the Bible. They do not even believe Ecclesiastes 12:7, cherry picking 9:3-10 but ignoring the conclusion of the matter. All those who disbelieve Jesus and who do not put total faith in His finished work at Golgotha, will experience what the rich man in Luke ch. 16 suffered - agony after death, while awaiting the future Day of Resurrection and Judgment.
