Less Sleep?
I remember as a kid waking and feeling like I needed to go back to sleep. I hated waking up. I felt groggy, cranky, on the verge of tears. It stunk! As a young adult, I tried to stay with the recommended 8 hours. Still felt bad. I had a hard time falling asleep and waking my whole life. I used to fret when I would look at the clock and see 12:00 am! Then my job changed. I found if I went to bed at 12:30 am and awoke between 6 and 8 am, I felt great! I have stuck with that for the last several years. I cant take naps. If I do, I am up all night and I get migraines. I also avoid them because my naps, rare as they may be, last 4 hours or more. I feel refreshed. Even if I cant sleep that night, the next day, I feel fine. And if I fall asleep before 10:00 pm, I am up at 4:00 am, and cant fall back asleep. So, I make myself stay up till 12:30, and awake between 6:00 and 8:00 am. Mind you, after I turn everything off, I am still up for another hour or so. I am estimating that I am getting between 5-7 hours of sleep on average. My daughter, I used to send her to bed at 8:30. But she would be awake in her bed for a whileand up at4:00 am. I stopped her early bed time and let her choose her own bed time. Now That she is a teenager, shes sleeping in late. I have read about people who need less sleep. Sleeping elite or super sleepers? Anyone know anything about this? I took a question and scored a 43.I am afraid of messing up my body getting less than the recommended, but I feel so good!

We're all different and need different amounts of sleep. You just need to find a sleep routine that works for you and stick to it, as you've already proved it works well!
I work with a guy who as a kid hardly slept at all and was labelled as having 'ADHD'. He goes to sleep after midnight and wakes as early as 05.00 and feels normal, he doesn't need to nap either. His just a normal average man, with no personality disorders etc, that you'd usually associate with ADHD. He probably never had it, just needed less sleep!
I on the other hand needed between 8 & 10 hours of sleep throughout my childhood, teens, early adult hood and until I went through the 'change'! Now I can survive on 7 - 8!

Have you noticed that is drug companies that are insisting we all sleep 8-9 hours now? Go back one decade and they were saying then that all needed 7-8 hours of sleep or...
Go back another decade and the drug companies were having it said we all needed 6-7 hours of sleep! ... Back in the 1960s they were saying we all needed 3-4 hours of sleep!
As they have kept claiming we need more sleep; that has keep getting more people on their drugs!
How about praying to God and asking God about yourself?
