Why are people with growth/puberty delay taller as adults than people with normal or advanced growth/puberty?

    The long bones grow in length until the growth plates lose their ability. This is triggered by the hormonal changes at puberty. So, delaying puberty allows the growth plates to function for a longer period of time, making the long bones longer.
