Question about possessive apostrophe.?

I created a Facebook page for the residents of an apartment complex and called it something like

"ABC Apartments Residents Group." Someone pointed out that it should be "ABC Apartments Resident s Group." Now I am wondering if it should be both because the group belongs to both the residents and the apartment complex. What do you think?

Update:

I just noticed my apostrophes did not should up on the question. The first should be Apartments' and the second residents'

This is often debated because of the way names work. For example, it's "St. Jude Hospital" because it's not owned by St. Jude- that's just the name of it. In your case, "apartments" definitely does not need the apostrophe. The apartments don't own the group. Whether or not you use an apostrophe for "Residents'" ( it would go AFTER the s because there's more than one resident) depends on whether you want to say that the residents own the group, or that it's just a group composed of the residents. Why don't you let the residents vote to decide?

    Residents' Group

I'd make it Residents' because it is available to all residents, not just one. I wouldn't think of indicating ownership by the complex because the complex cannot be a user or contributor.

'Apartments' doesn't need an apostrophe, but acts as a title for the group. You are being confused because it's plural. It's not possessive.

The group is for more than one resident, so the wording should be ABC Apartments Residents' Group.

It's "resident's group" since ABC Apartments has no meaning other than to describe the residents.

However, since it is a proper noun (all caps), A name doesn't necessarily have to follow grammar rules. There is only one way to correctly spell a name. For example, if you opened Chucks Bar and Grill (no apostrophe) that would be the only correct way to spell the name even if it was grammatically incorrect.
