  • Google refuses to reimburse me for a defective gift card - What can be done?

I bought a $50 and $25 Google Play gift card from Publix in Florida. The $50 card was fine. I peeled the backing off to reveal the code. The backing on the $25 card did not come off so easily. I scratched it with my fingernail, just like the first card, but it came off in small pieces, taking the code with it. Publix refused to help and said I had to contact Google. I sent Google a photo of the back of the card which showed the defective scratch area. It also showed the serial number of the card which I am sure they can see it hasn't been used. I also sent a picture of the receipt. Google said they won't help because "we are unable to redeem the value of the gift card to your account. Google is not responsible for gift cards that have been lost, stolen, or destroyed" (but they are responsible for collecting the money from them). I know it is only $25 but it pisses me off. What can be done?

  • Question about the proper use of commas?

Consider this sentence: "My cat, Frankie, loves to go outside."

The commas seem to imply that I have one cat and his name is Frankie. If I have more than one cat and want the reader to know I am talking about a specific cat, should I lose the commas?

  • Question about possessive apostrophe.?

I created a Facebook page for the residents of an apartment complex and called it something like

"ABC Apartments Residents Group." Someone pointed out that it should be "ABC Apartments Resident s Group." Now I am wondering if it should be both because the group belongs to both the residents and the apartment complex. What do you think?

  • How do I stop spam email if the sender keeps changing their sending domain?

For example, one email will be from Z48sfz9@YKVFgmy.org.leading-mail-for077.akamatera.com and another from oM1pPwK@UtGdwWz.org.leading-mail-for700.akamatera.com. Blocking akamatera.com does not work nor does unsubscribing. Is there a way to block everything that ends with akamatera like "*akamatera.com"?

  • Comma or no comma?

    Consider this sentence:

"My cat, Frankie, loves to go outside."

This sentence seems correct but what if I have more than one cat? This seems to tell the reader I have one cat and his name is Frankie. If I have two cats, and Frankie is the one that loves to go outside, should I drop the commas?

Has anyone heard of "Old Ironsides Hotel" in Chicago around 1930.?

My great grandfather lived there during the 1930 census and it may have been a homeless shelter but I can't find a record of it.

  • Question about naming a non profit?

I would like to start a non profit charitable organization but the name I would like to use rhymes (unintentionally) with a well know for profit company that is compleatly unrelated. Will I have a legal problem with the state and/or the company?

I am thinking about starting a non-profit to help with stray and ferrel cat populations. I will have limited funds at first and would like to know if volunteers will need to be insured.

  • Question for fans of movie Jaws?

When Quint's boat, The Orca, headed to sea, it had five barrels. One barrel was put in the shark. Shortly after that, I believe, the shark bit through the line when they tried to collect it. They then put three more barrels in it and at the end there was two barrels left. That's six barrels. Did I miss something? Did the first barrel end up back on the boat or did Spielberg screw up the count?
