What is your view on NHS clap? ?

just a question on peoples thoughts about the NHS clap at 8pm on Thursdays.

Just a genuine question on what people’s thoughts are.

Outside a local koan school I heard the sound of one hand clapping.

The custodians, techs, lab techs, and everyone who isn't a physician or nurse deserve just as many claps and rewards. People who dispose of the bodies, those who have to get rid of bio-hazard materials, they are my hero's.

It would be nice if it had been spontaneous. It’s now a bit forced, something you must do or your a horrid person who doesn’t support the NHS.

It's to show our appreciation to all the 'front line workers' who put their lives at risk every time they come into contact with a possible 'covoid-19' carrier or infected person and carrying on working regardless.

Without these workers, our country would've ground to a halt, with piles of stinking refuse attracting vermin, no flushing toilets or running water, more criminals free to break in to your home, unattended house fires, no Ambulances, no Supermarkets or food shops, dirty Hospitals, starved elderly people sitting in their own filth etc...

I don't do it every Thursday, but usually at least 3 a month!

Clapping is fine - but neighbours turning up at my door with printed  covid ridden song sheets breaks the rules and irritates me. Like someone said, it becomes like “simon says” and i don’t want to play.

I has a friend who got the clap they said it was unpleasant.

Clapping doesn't make their jobs any easier.

Ridiculous you won't catch me clapping. They are doing a job they are paid to do i.e. treat the sick nothing special in that.

Not being British, I thought it a nice gesture the first time, not too sure about once a week though.

They might appreciate more ppe more.

in utopia it is a nice gesture.

    we dont live in utopia.

clapping is used to distract the people from the failures of a conservative government under boris johnson, who have killed 100's of NHS and care workers, due to their incompetence

additionally these same clappers know NHS heroes are sent to the front line without PPE and covid-19 testing, these heroes also return home after a shift to infect their loving family.

what kind of caring conservative government would treat NHS heroes like cannon fodder

It’s a nice gesture, helps bring people together, shows your support. And at least we weren’t asked to do jazz hands
