Have you had transmission problems? Could be a faulty neutral safety switch.

Have you checked the ignition module It's a no spark No nothing failure of the ignition module also check the fusesible link on the charging circuit if that blows same thing you get nothing interior ad far As lights and no exterior lights either no clicking on the starter YOU GET ZIP when those two things fail on a older Ford

ECU is fried or there is a bad ECU ground or a sensor/s is/are shorted or there is a bad sensor ground.  Check all the ignition fuses.  Check for a bad ECU ground.

You can connect one end of jumper wire to the S terminal of starter and with key On and shifter in Park, touch the other end to battery positive.  If engine cranks but does not start, there is an issue with the ECU/sensors.  If engine cranks and starts, you are lucky and you might just have a bad ignition switch and a bad cluster.  Good luck.

Do the headlights work?  If not, measure the battery voltage. You can charge some bad batteries for days and they still don’t work. A fully charged battery should read about 12.5 volts with nothing on. With the voltmeter still reading the battery voltage, try to start the car. If it goes way down, you need a battery.

have someone check to see if the brake lights are ON when you step on the brake pedal, because the brake light switch is part of the transmission - ignition interlock system ..........
