Can white vinegar be used for cleaning coins?

I'm not really a coin collector. I just want to clean up the loose change I have.

Yes it can, but mix it with baking soda and a gentle soap. I keep vinegar around the house and use it for cleaning many things because it is non-toxic and effective, and inexpensive.

Soak them in the same mixture (tablets) you use, to soak false teeth.

I used Tabasco sauce when I was a kid. Worked great on tarnished pennies. Not sure about other coins.

Obviously, coin collectors don't clean valuable coins. I would think some dish soap and water would do it.

Yes, it will clean them up.  Brown vinegar works just as well.
