Why did Mother Angelica's habit change?

It went from basically brown to basically black.

    In 1993 Mother Angelica gave up wearing her simple brown and beige Franciscan habit in favor of the more severe black version, in the hope of enhancing the traditional symbolism and beauty which pertained to such garb. No further info available.
