There are not many variations on the recipe for pumpkin pie.
The pie filling ranges in color from orange to brown and is baked in a single pie shell, rarely with a top crust. The pie is generally flavored with cinnamon, powdered ginger, nutmeg, and cloves. Allspice is also commonly used and can replace the clove and nutmeg, as its flavor is similar to both combined. Cardamom and vanilla are also sometimes used as batter spices. The spice mixture is called pumpkin pie spice.
The pie is often made from canned pumpkin or packaged pumpkin pie filling (spices included), mainly from varieties of Cucurbita moschata.

Using Google 158,000,000 recipes in 0.56 seconds...OR
There are different variations of ingredients but the basic recipe is the same.
Cream, Evaporated Milk is most often used. Sometimes Sweetened Condensed milk is used. If it is though the sugar is eliminated or greatly reduced.
Sugar white commonly used Brown sugar can be used it will give a slightly darker color to the finished pie. Again if Sweetened Condensed milk is used this is reduced.
Spices. Cinnamon, clove, ginger, nutmeg. Some use a commercially made "pumpkin pie mix" or even an "apple pie mix"
Eggs are used, or an egg substitute is used since pumpkin pie is a custard type pie the eggs are what binds the ingredients
Some will add nuts, commonly pecans.
Others might make a nut mixture to be sprinkled on the top of the pie. Much like a Streussel that you might find on a "Dutch Apple Pie"
As for the pumpkin most use canned pumpkin (not actually pumpkin but a Dickinson squash) If a fresh, whole pumpkin is used it is a smaller pumpkin called a pie pumpkin or sugar pumpkin. Carving pumpkins contain more moisture and less sugar.
Some use the pumpkin right from the can, others cook the pumpkin a bit to intensify the flavor.
And if a can of "Pumpkin Pie Mix" is used no spices are necessary nor is sugar.
