Oklahoma Unemployment?

The law says that you have to accept suitable employment that is offered to you. let me give you an example if you're a cashier and your employer says well the cashier job is closed down right now instead we're going to stock the store putting things on the shelf. That's all part of running a store that's acceptable employment. Your employee says we're going to close down the food store and we're going into the plumbing business report tomorrow and bring your shovel. 

Do you have to accept that no you don't. but as long as the job that's being offered to you is part of the normal things that you do in that business then the answer is probably yes they're going to tell you you have to take the job in order to qualify for unemployment benefits.

No but they can then let you go.

Of course no you are free to say no.  That does not mean there won't be consequences to your saying no.  If it is a promotion and you don't feel qualified or do not want to go into management you can tell your employer so and they may let you keep your current job but usually that would reduce your chances of promotion in the future. If your current job is going away you can take the new one or quit. If it is a lateral move you can take it or quit. If you quit you do not get unemployment.

No you can look for another job and give notice... but if you just say no then it means you have deliberately made yourself unemployed so will not get unemployment
