I like Eleanor of Aquitaine (1122 – 1 April 1204) queen consort of France (1137–1152) queen consort of England (1154–1189) and duchess of Aquitaine in her own right (1137–1204). Mother of kings (Henry the Young King, Richard I of England and King John of England) and queens (Eleanor, queen of Castile and Joan, queen of Sicily. As queen dowager, Eleanor acted as regent of England while Richard went on the Third Crusade. As the heir of the House of Poitiers, rulers in southwestern France, she was one of the wealthiest and most powerful women in western Europe during the High Middle Ages. She led armies several times in her life and was a leader of the Second Crusade.

The historical figure that I admire is Queen Elizabeth I. She had a very bad upbringing even though she was the daughter of Henry VIII and Anne Boleyn. She managed to survive through all the troubles with her elder sister Bloody Mary when she was Queen, she kept Mary Queen of Scots at bay.
She tried to hold the country together in a time when women were classed as second class citizens. She never married as she believed that she was married to her country and her country needed her more then a husband would. Just a great lady with the heart of a lion and very strong.
