WHAT IS THIS SCREW IN THE ENGINE?
i recently, had a repair in my car where i replaced the engine head and and the connecting rod, surprisingly i noticed this long screw in the engine close to the head, it is tightly fitted, but i m not sure if its right!, also my cars is making a tickling sound from the engine when idle! pls help!( have a look at this pics below)

Chances are good the long screw holds down the pretty plastic cover which is not in the car right now. Lifter are sticking so take to a mechanic and they can hear it and make things good again.

It is a stand-off that used to be where your engine cover, a shield, wiring harness or something else was attached. Ticking sound could be an exhaust leak, loose valve adjustment or it could be nothing at all. Your mechanic should be consulted.
