Why do Americans call Maths Math?

    They can't be bothered to learn to speak correct English.

    Both are abbreviations for mathematics. In the US, mathematics is singular, thus it is abbreviated math. In the UK mathematics is plural, thus it is abbreviated maths.

    Not sure. They usually just call it math or mathematics here.
