does Yahoo no longer want our opinions known?

Yahoo use to be a free place to express opinions, now they've take out comments on news and it's ruining Yahoo.  So who is yahoo for now?  Is it for us to enjoy or is now a political propaganda site?    I did notice a lot less traffic here on Answers.  It really makes me sick.

They NEVER wanted your opinions known.

    Take this recent article:

Jane Fonda compares Trump to ex-husband Ted Turner: 'There are certain things that I understand about this kind of man'

    Raechal Shewfelt

    Raechal ShewfeltEditor, Yahoo Entertainment

Raechal never asked Hanoi Jane why she gave up all that she believed to marry a rich capitalist in the first place, just accepting that Ted is bad and so Donald is bad.

To allow comments would be to point out this poor journalism on the part of Raechal and hypocrisy, once again, of Jane Fonda.

Something weird is definitley going on.

My friend used to have a old yahoo answers account on here before it got banned because obviously someone high up in yahoo didnt like freedom of speech and a different view point of their own. My friend was always polite but spoke her true opinion which was never offensive.

As soon as i joined i noticed you get called a troll for asking questions you are curious about.  And people dont seem to want to answer decent questions anymore but will answer silly ones.

At first i thought i was writing too much in my questions but this is not the case as i write smaller and still dont get decent answers or enough answers.

Think yahoo have gone power mad and people are scared to post because they might violate a stupid pointless rule of yahoos.

The users are even telling other users what they can write. People are probably worried they will keep getting told off for a genuine harmless questions.

Someone got told off for writing"how old are you"

Just post the answer as anonymous.. you are in no real danger of anything just for posting your age as anoymous.

This is a stupid rule. And lacks common sense.

People also give stupid answers that are not helpful or dont give detailed answers and therefore people give up asking.

Yahoo never "wanted our opinions known". Why would they care? They provided a way for us to Comment, which used as it was intended was a very useful feature, but naturally some people were unable to resist the temptation to post long political rants.

If Yahoo have indeed turned this feature off until after the US election, I can't say I blame them.

I think they're trying to avoid getting into a lawsuit over being a bullying platform.

Comments were one of the few reasons to use Yahoo. Without them Yahoo News will disappear.

No because of the risk of spamming or trolling.

Yahoo never was a Place to Express Opinions YA's Community Guidelines States that Chat is not Allowed and Opinions are Chat

Thats not why Comments was Taken out tho

Yahoo took Comments out Because people were abusing them and using them to Cyber Bully other people around so Yahoo wants to take a Time out with the Comments

Its only Temporary they will Turn them back on at a Later Time when that they have not Announced

NOT if they differ from theirs, nope ...............................

One aspect is the comments had become so vile that advertisers might start leaving. That is really important to Verizon. If you want, start a Facebook or Reddit page to vent your opinions.
