It's only scary if you don't know where you're going after you die. I don't fear death since I'm guaranteed to go to heaven according to 1 John 5:13.

In John 6:47 Jesus said, "Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me hath everlasting life."

Do you believe in Jesus? If so, what do you possess right now according to this verse? If you can't say that you possess everlasting life right now, then you are doubting the veracity of Jesus' promise. In essence, you would be calling God a liar.

In Acts 16:31 when the Philippian Jailer asked Paul what he must do to be saved, the response given was: "Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved." If believing in Jesus is the only condition that Paul gave the jailer, then believing in Jesus is enough! If there are any other conditions of salvation, then Paul lied. It's as simple as that.

The truth is that death leads to heaven or hell, and the only way to heaven is through faith in Jesus Christ.

The Bible is very clear that no one can earn their way to heaven since good works do not pay for sins. See Gal. 2:16, Rom. 3:23-28, 4:4-5, Eph. 2:8-9, Tit. 3:5. The only way to heaven is by believing in Jesus for His free gift of eternal life. Jesus shed His blood on the cross as the full payment for our sins. He did all the work; all He requires of us is that we believe in Him. Once you believe in Jesus Christ to save you, you are secure forever!

Because we have all sinned against a perfectly holy and righteous God, we all deserve eternal separation from God in hell (Rom. 6:23). However, God loves us so much that He sent His only Son Jesus to die on the cross as our Substitute so we don't have to go to hell. Christ died for our sins, was buried, and rose from the grave three days later (1 Cor. 15:3-4). He gives eternal life freely to anyone who simply believes in Him for it. No one can be saved by doing good works. Salvation is by grace alone through faith alone in Christ alone (Eph. 2:8-9).

"Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me hath everlasting life" (John 6:47).

There are interesting things I could tell you about death and where people go and its suppose to be a joyous thing if you achieve all of the things a believer strives to seek and achieve even in death.  Death won't seem scary or difficult for such people. It will be the happiest moment of their lives because good believers who did good and who did strive for the sake of God, will receive good news and death won't be painful for them.

You should be afraid if you're unsaved, because death will bring you to eternal torment.  But it is very easy to avoid eternal torment.  Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, and you won't be in eternal torment.  Here is the truth: The Lord Jesus Christ is God. Nobody can be good enough to avoid hell. The truth is that death leads to immediate heaven or hell, depending only on whether the person believed on the Lord Jesus Christ, or not. The truth is that the Lord Jesus Christ loves you and wants to bless your life freely :) Most of all, Jesus wants you with Him forever, and not in hell. It is too late to be saved, after death.

    .

Believing on the Lord Jesus Christ means being forgiven all sins past and future and means going to heaven. The truth is that every belief except one will lead to eternal torment in the lake of fire for every person. Because nothing pays for our sins except the death and blood of Jesus, the sacrifice of Jesus that is already accomplished by Him . Jesus loves you! The truth is that the Lord Jesus Christ is God, and Jesus died on the cross to pay for all of our sins in full, and then Jesus was buried, and then Jesus resurrected from the dead. Nothing else pays for our sins, not works, not deeds, not religions. So the only way to heaven and to avoid hell, is by believing on Jesus for eternal life (John 6:47), without adding any of your own works (Romans 4:5). Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ to take you to heaven, and you will be in heaven, no matter what, guaranteed. That easy, thanks to Jesus! Tell Jesus that you thank Him that you will be with Him in heaven

Thanatophobia is a common phobia, just like arachnophobia.  I don't understand it myself everything that has ever lived has either died or will die.  More people have died than have drawn breath into their lungs.  It's literally the only thing we can honestly say "Everyone does it" and not exaggerate.

People fear death because its an unknown situation.  I think its natural whether you are a theist or atheist to wonder about it.  I believe that Jesus Christ is my savior, and I'm prepared to leave this current existence in that way.  For the atheist, there is no hope, and nothing gained in this life can give you more insight into what is possible after death.  You can't read enough books or buy enough stuff to change the rules and the outcome.

Because God in His mercy has given us a survival instinct so that we will have time to seek and find His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ, and receive Him as Lord and Savior before we die.

Because it's end of everything. When you loose your life you loose everything, all your dreams wishes loved ones. everything & everyone. Yes the world goes on but for you, everything has finished.

Is it?  I didn't know it was.

Think back to before you were born.  Was it scary?  Death is just like that.

It's not for those who have a spiritual-background.

I'm not afraid of death (I've left my body in meditation).

...I'm only afraid of the pain I'll feel in getting there.

I assure you, life does continue.
