Because alcohol reduces anxiety maybe. People miss a lot of details when they are in a state of anxiety.

It's all about inhibitions and alcohol brain metabolism.  When alcohol is partly metabolized in the brain,  it lowers inhibitions, including the ones that omit what is decided by the brain to be 'white noise.

This omission is in part to prevent the brain from being overstimulated by minutiae like visual details.

These omissions are often filled in by the brain and that's why people often overlook glaring grammatical errors in signage and in titles

    Like double double typing.

Because when you’re drunk it changes your state of mind.
