End of Empire?

Yes.  Empires either fall apart because they get invaded, like Nazi Germany did, or they fall apart internally because their society tears itself apart.  Trump is destroying America as an "empire"

It is. It seems to be at a crossroad.  One way leads to utter hopelessness & despair; the other to total extinction.  In this election, they hope to choose correctly.  If they choose Biden, it's the slow death of the former.  If they choose Trump, that's the autobahn to Hell.  The country may well not exist in 5 years time.   

Americans will disagree with your observation.  The US is a power that is in decline as its influence is waning due to the policies of its current president.  In addition when you look at the Trumpsters you are looking at a group that doesn't like changes in society and is very resistant to those changes.  This results in  stagnation and a stagnant society fades away.   What the rest of the world sees happening right now in the US is a country that is destroying itself from within. 

Theres a saying that i keep repeating that is as old as mankind so has much relevence to it , "those the gods wish to destroy first send them mad " look at the periods prior to their demise, Greece making Socrates commit suicide Nero Caligula in Rome Trump and Johnson in these times is history repeating
