Is it wrong to look for baby given away at birth when they turn 18?

A distant cousin gave birth to a girl in 2006, in 4 years time she plans to actively look for her daughter when they turn 18. Is it wrong to still miss her & reach out when she becomes an adult.

No why would it be bad? Just don’t expect the kid to automatically return the feelings

Yes. Maybe her daughter doesn’t want to meet her. Or maybe the adopted parents don’t want their daughter to meet her biological mother.

If I were adopted, I sure wouldn’t want to meet my biological mother.
