Can the government decide that a lack of health insurance is an unsafe environment and take kids away?

And should they be able to?.

    I don't have to worry about that. In my country everyone gets healthcare. No private health insurance needed.

    No. To both questions. Parens Patriae. The state provides for such. Besides, there's always Free Clinics, City of Hope, Shriner's, McDonald House, & more.

    No. Further EMTALA and other HC laws require medical facilities to care for patients regardless of the patient's relative ability to pay.

    I guarantee you that too much TV does more damage to a Childs brain than not having adequate healthcare.

    It would be a whole lot cheaper and make more sense to have the government provide health insurance or health care to those kids rather than foot all the bills associated with having custody of them.

    And no.  That is not enough to take kids away from their parents.
