Eye Doctor wears glasses?
Would you go to an eye Dr that wears glasses? Isn't that counterproductive? Like a Dentist with Braces

Really? Optics, whether glasses or contacts, are used to correct abnormal lens, cornea or focus problems in your eyes. Most of these conditions are not cureable. Glasses have no effect on your doctor's abilities! Their brain still works just fine. Matter of fact, I think doctors with glasses may have studied more...

Well him/her wearing glasses doesn't lower his expertise or skills. I think he may even be in a better position to help you since he has already experienced the issue firsthand.

If an optician has glasses, that has nothing to do with their skills as an optician. It isn't like they could preform an examination on themselves. It just means they have bad eyesight, they don't cause themselves to have bad eyesight due to their lack of skills, and them being skilled will not improve their eyesight. In fact, if they have had eyesight issues themselves, that could help their skills as an optician since they can experience what it is like first hand.

I'm not sure why you would think that it is a problem. Most people who become optometrists do so because at some point they were helped by an optometrist. I have noticed looking in optometry journals that contact lens specialists often wear glasses and designers who have their names often on frame lines do not. I have always found it difficult to use my equipment with glasses on. If not, I would probably take the opportunity to model expensive frames.

As long as the person knows what he is doing ,who cares! Most people will wear glasses at some point in their life and many wear braces, dentures or whatever!

I have an eye doctor with glasses and a dentist with braces, and both are amazing people and awesome at their job. Your logic is flawed. Most people don't have control over whether or not they end up with poor eyesight, so they need glasses to see. You also don't have control with how your teeth grow in, so it only makes sense to straighten you teeth which not only looks good, considering it's your field, but could inspire others who are afraid of the dentist. In both cases, they prove just how effective their respective jobs are. Where's the counterproductivity?

Many Doctors become specialists only because they or family/riends suffer from a problem.
Notice how many celebrity who "support" a particular charity also suffer themselves or family/friends from it.
