Would you be looked down upon by Cuba citizens if you  pronounced the name wrong?

I never like to pronounce Cuba as "cewba"    Always pronounced it as Cuba rhyming with tuba.

If I visited there and I always pronounced it as it rhymes with tuba, how would people respond and what they be OK with that.

The Cuban people are very forgiving, but most pronounce it the same way you do. The Spanish pronounce the letters differently than we do. The letter U would sound like oo. So it would sound like Cooba. I have a hell of a time spelling my name in Spanish. Some day I may get it right.
