You can't look a total numbers you must look at rates of death by total USA population. But yes it is bad -

    1861 was 31.4 million rate 1.97% (used 600k)

    1917 was 103 million rate 116.5 killed .11%

1941 was  133.4 million   and 291K americans died. rate .256%

220 was 330 million rate of .126% so far.

The shocking thing is that with all our scientific knowledge, we're not doing any better at fighting this disease than we did with the Spanish flu. But you can see from the responses you got how many people are in denial of the seriousness of this disease, which is a big part of why we're doing so badly.

Planned Parenthood kills/aborts 345,000 fetus' every year.

The medical profession kills over 1 million Americans every year.

FWIW, over 80% of the Covid deaths are from pneumonia.

Over 80% of the "cases" are FALSE POSITIVES.

In past epidemics the US governments only counted deaths as an epidemic death if the disease was the primary cause of death. For COVID-19 the Obama holdovers at the CDC & NIH changed the rules so that anyone dead who tested positive for the virus or who was even presumed to have the virus is counted as a pandemic death. It was done to increase the death toll so things like mass, uncontrolled mail in voting would seem justified.
