Paying rent to parents ?

Do you believe that it is wrong to hold a parent to the same legal standards of a landlord is charging a child rent. Including taking legal action or whatever is allowed to happen legally depending on state or country

Update:

Sorry but the rules don’t change because you are a parent / child. If parents or child cannot afford household expenses then they need to get a second job or rent a room out. Regardless of title if you are an adult you should be able to be responsible for your own household expenses of where you consider home.

It is irresponsible to put your expenses on another adult regardless of the type of relationship you have a messed up person willingly excepts that obligation themselves.

You are not paying rent. You are contributing the the household expenses.

Absent a written lease, I DEFY you to prove otherwise.

No, I think all tenants should be held to the same LEGAL standards.  An adult child whose parent is his/her landlord is not entitled to any special consideration.
