Solyndra was actually a GW Bush production. It was almost finished when Obama was elected. Obama came to Fremont to do a photo-op at the plant, hoping he'd get some credit for all the jobs it was supposed to bring. (That building is Tesla today!)
There are two reasons Solyndra failed. One was that the price of silicon went up so we wanted to make photovoltaics from something else (I forget what). But it came back down again. The other is that we decided to beat China to supremacy in photovoltaic manufacturing. So we spent $2 billion. But China spent $85 billion. THAT was GW Bush's mistake.
BTW, 'Fast and Furious' was another GW Bush project that you liars love to pin on Obama.
