Monkey King: Hero Is Back?

Is the movie Monkey King: Hero Is Back part of a series?  And if so, what are the other movies in the series?  Its Wikipedia article doesn't say anything about sequels or prequels, but its title makes it sound like a sequel.  And I know there are other Monkey King movies, although I don't know if they're related.

"The Monkey King" is a prominent figure in Chinese culture, sort of like a folk-hero, and is actually based on a (Hindu?) god. His first popular appearance is in the epic "Journey to the West", although it's very likely the character himself predates that novel by centuries.

I don't know about the movie you're talking about in particular, but it's likely a stand-alone film among many other tellings and re-tellings of other stories, sort of like how there are many Robin Hood or Batman movies that aren't related.

Worthy to note: Goku from the original Dragon Ball series is even based on the Monkey King, hence his having a tail, a staff, and the ability to turn into a massive ape.
