No one should be surprised at the vote as the result was predictable. Those who voted to acquit Trump showed they they are not profiles in courage. They have also shown that political power is far more important to them than their oath of office. These congressional Trumplicans could not vote in any other way than they did because they are complicit in Trump's actions and this impeachment trial was also a judgement on them. Hopefully the public will remember these congressional Trumplicans and turf them out of office when they are up for re-election. As for McConnell his speech after the trial shows just what a cowardly hypocrite he is since it was he who delayed the impeachment until after Jan 26/21. .

15% of Republican Senators voted to convict. That is significant. What remains to be seen is whether Trump will start causing trouble again, or whether he will just go away.

It was better than expected. I thought only 5 Republicans would switch for certain, but the number was 7.

COMPILATION: Democrats, Media Figures Glorify Violence Against Trump Supporters

Didn't surprise me.
America can't make two correct decisions in so many months - and I was surprised even one DID get made... but not as surprised as those who stormed the capitol with a that's-my-story-and-I'm-sticking-to-it attitude that it was stolen.

It was the ONLY decision, considering the totally flawed evidence - amounting to no real evidence at all, and considering the allegations were totally out of character for Trump. It was just the nasty, greedy democrats trying to keep Trump out of the next running. The demonrats will stop at nothing to maintain power.

I was sceptical at first, but very glad he got acquitted.
Democrats had no evidence or proof Trump incited a riot.

Annoyed. Furious. Fearful Trump and his corrupt fanbase wont stop until this country is burned to the ground.
Just so they can have the final say. Useless.
