Not initially. He regards her as a stuck up b__ch. She was nobility, and he was a commoner. Worse actually, basically a slave. Their clan's system suppressed talented Shinobi like him in favor of the pampered Hinata. So he had alot of rage for her.
But over the course of the story he comes to respect her and befriend her.
