Has anyone heard of a 45rpm record in black, flexible polythene?  Could it be a promotional gimmick from the 60s?

I just want to follow up on a question you answered about “why is my dad such a jerk” because I wasn’t sure you’d see my update. I always call my parents and I visit them consistently. I inquire about their lives every single time. You made a lot of assumptions based on my age which is pretty immature. If you weren’t going to help me better understand the situation, then maybe you shouldn’t have answered the question. Please do not assume what I do and don’t do. You have no right to tell me that I don’t love or miss them. I do and I show it. You don’t know anything, so don’t go there.

And I lean on them a lot, so I am not even fully independent like you assumed. I want to get off their back since I feel like a burden.

When we call, I always ask about them. Please don’t put what you wish you would’ve done and your issues on me. I’m not responsible for your happiness. It’s not my problem.

Yes,   they use to have them occasionally in magazines,  like  Mad Magazine,   or  Cracked .  (Like Mad Magazine)   Promotional gimmicks.

I still had a few kicking about with my record collection,   but I finally sold it all off, after years of being in storage.

I have a couple somewhere, yes.  They gave them with cereal as prizes.

Flexible 45 RPM records were usually single sided and attached to a cereal box.  I believe they were actually made of vinyl, not polyethylene.

no, 45s were common back in the day, bands would release 45s with just a few songs, or only a hit song (side A, side B would usually be some weirdo song), the music industry has changed a lot in the last 4 or 5 decades
