Do you think Mike Pence betrayed Donald Trump on January 6, 2021 when he didn’t reject the electoral vote counts from swing states he lost ?

A lot of Trump supporters are calling Mike Pence a traitor for refusing to object the Electoral Votes from Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Nevada, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin. Donald Trump claims the election was stolen from him and on Jan 6 prior to the Capitol being breached, Trump told his supporters that Mike Pence has the power to send the electoral votes back to those states and Trump would be very disappointed if Mike Pence failed to do this. A lot of rioters on the Capitol even chanted “Mike Pence Traitor” and “Hang Mike Pence”. Did Mike Pence even have the authority to reject the Electoral Vote Counts. Did Mike Pence betray Trump ?

I think that during his four years as Vice President, Pence was exceptionally loyal to Trump. Had he not accepted the votes, he would have been acting illegally.

Well, I am not sure whether traitor is too strong a word and of course am convinced that he should not be hanged of course. That being said what he did, or failed to do in that case , apparently for his own reasons as opposed to for the good of the country seemed very wrong! Also he was not there to support Trump in time of need.

No, Pence was just following the rules in the Constitution.

    No. Pence didn't.

There is a reason why the DNC, RNC, and MSM use WI to get an idea of the political environment. Since 1976, the only Presidential elections it wasn't in the victor's column were 1988, 2000, and 2004.

WI didn't want both Bush's in the White House; the rest of the country did.

This is a republic. You can't just reject the results because you don't like the outcome. Even Dense knows that. He followed the rule of law. #NoFraud

The end results of all republicans who followed Trump is disgrace. Whether they are loyalists like Pence or lying cowards like Ted Cruz, they all eventually get disgraced.

No, Pence didn't have the authority to reject the electoral votes.  I've wondered if trump was really stupid enough to think Pence had that authority, or if he didn't care, and figured he try a coup anyway.

And to those who claim Pence didn't do the "right" thing, he did the only thing he had the authority to do.  A little education goes a long way.
