Who said we fall short? Did Jesus die for us to "fall short?"
Jesus said "We are sealed with that Holy Spirit of PROMISE [Of Holy Spirit baptism; Acts 1:4-5] in Ephesians 1:13. "SEALED?" Don't you know what "SEALED" means?
Romans 3:24 says we are
"BEING JUSTIFIED freely by His grace..."
We have "the righteousness of God which is by faith (((OF))) Jesus Christ" (Romans 3:22).

Why would Jesus command us "Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect" (Matthew 5:48) and tell us "If we don't obey His commandments we are LIARS" (I John 2:3-5) then send us to HELL for LYING (Rev 21:8) if we can't "BE PERFECT?"

If Christians were 'powerless,' you would still be an impoverished slave living in some obscure tribe someplace on earth still oppressed inside the old order of 'first families,' which Jesus commanded to be replaced, ('First last and last first,' Mark 10:29-31).
The age of aristocracy ended because of our exhibited power, the unprecedented prosperity you enjoy arrived based on Christ's new social models for family, business and farm, which He promised to anyone of any tribe who 'left behind' the old models for His new ones. Jesus also taught us that 'persecutions' would continue as the old order struggled against this inevitable tide, (verse 30 above).
Anyone who continues to attack us is part of that futility, but its back is broken and Christ's new world is emerging, whether they kick and scream or welcome it with joy.
