I am very close with my family friends kid and trying to make him see me as a brother I always hangout with him she only has them 1 week on and 1 week off and for the full week they are always with me I asked hopefully he will start to see me as a brother and she said yup that’s all she said so not sure if she is just trying to make me happy or it’s not going to happen and she doesn’t wanna tell me the truth

Not sure it matters what she thinks. The kid will love you for looking after him. May be you could say i'm like your big bro sometime.
