How much can blind people see?

I have a crush on a blind girl I run into sometimes, and I try not to stare and be creepy, but ya' know. However, she seems to stare right back at me making eye contact. But her sight is bad enough that she has to feel around for a door knob. Can they see vague blobs of movement or something?

A blind person can't see anything, to the best of my knowledge. I think you're confusing blindness with being partially sighted there. Two different things. Don't confuse the two.

Depends of the degree of blindness, some can see very little. Others can see shades of sights and some light. Many see blurs.

It depends on the person.  Some see nothing at all, and some might have very limited sight - like the blobs you mentioned.  Blind people tend to rely on other senses more, so she is probably listening to you very intently, which means aiming her head directly at you.

Every blind person is different. At one end of the spectrum a blind person may not be able to see anything at all.

At the other end of the spectrum a person can be legally declared "blind" if they have less than 20/200 vision in one eye - meaning their vision is so blurry that they have to be 20 feet away from an object that a normal sighted person can see from 200 feet away. And they can see perfectly fine in the other eye.
