Americans speak American and spell it with an s. We don't care what the English do.

No I don't, because I don't live in the USA. It's an American spelling thing.

No, I spell it driver's license. There is no such thing as a "driving license/licence."

Your spell check in your computer would see if you spelled it wrong and underline it in RED Let me try - license licence lisence It only likes the first one and the other two are misspelled. Having a spell check activated is up in the OPTIONS (the 3 horizontal bars in the upper right hand of the screen. When I KNOW FOR A FLUCKING FACT that that is the way it is spelled, then I add it to the dictionary cuz I ain't a Yank so have not bastardized the language. More the Victorian way of writing, part of their independence(even though they STILL SPEAK ENGLISH.)
Also using shortened grunt "Merican" language makes for tighter writing especially when you are only allowed 128 letters because=cuz/ cousin=cuz/ You=U Words I know for a fact have a "z" in them, get the "z" and not the "s" because that was the way I was taught. But there are no English teachers here so you can get away with grunting it out and the reader either CAN figure it out or NOT. The Spelling Nazi's have no say here. They may complain but then they did not have to read it.
I know 5 languages, so cifering has become second nature. You have to be flexible. Still sounds the same so who gives a hoot?

In the US, it's license for both noun and verb. In most of the rest of the English-speaking world, it's licence for the noun and license for the verb. If you want to remember which one has the c and which has the s, it's the same rule as for advice and advise.

Driving licence is wrong and my computer even red lines it for the wrong spelling. Don't you have auto-correct? Sounds like you would learn from it.
