What do you think of states that are opening up completely regardless of the status of the covid cases and deaths in their state?

Do you feel the need to continue safe practices?

They should never have shut down to begin with.  Lock down nursing homes and if you're vulnerable or afraid stay home.  The rest of us need to get to work.

I think it is time to open up.

Opening up does not preclude safe practices.  It seems that closing the economy actually resulted in excess deaths among elderly nursing home residents, as active covid patients were forced into nursing homes, resulting in thousands of deaths.

If we were open, the elderly and vulnerable could be protected by staying home or being kept in an uninfected environment.  People in normal or even half normal health are not likely to die from covid, and if infected, they will become immune.

Masks and social distancing can still be used as needed or desired.

North Dakota removed their restrictions Jan 15th - their curve is so flat it's almost no curve at all.

About 10 states never had a mask policy and very limited restrictions and the states that removed their restrictions in Feb = the curve in these states  look exactly like California's.

Mask policies don't work, because about 70% of covid transmission occurs in your house, where you don't wear a mask.

All the news = Texas is going to combust because of their elimination of restrictions.

Have you looked at their curve.  It's been over 2 weeks since restrictions were removed and had about 40% less case yesterday (3/25/2021 than on 3/10/2021) and about 70% less than March 1st.

I think it's pretty obvious at this stage, that lockdowns and restrictions do very little difference at all...
