I'm asking regardless of whether it is warranted or not, how can a group of people just over take a piece of public property for their own needs on US soil? What is stopping other groups from doing this over other tragedies that occur all over the United States?

Democrats like division. They want it to happen. So it's not just Leftist ingrates who have a gripe against society, it's from the top down. Leftists think that silence means permission. It's worse than just a weird Leftist group. It's insurgency.
