How to properly use a cast iron skillet.?
I just bought a new "nonstick seasoned cast iron skillet". I need to understand how its nonstick works. Do I need to use oil on it when I cook so my eggs wont stick or will they naturally not stick. Do I need to wash it a special way so it remains nonstick
? Do I ever need to reseason (dont totally understand what that means)? Is it just a perfect skillet that will never have anything stick to it and Im big time overthinking this. how do i make it nonstick and keep it nonstick.

It becomes nonstick because oil is baked into the pan.
You season the pan by preheating the over to about 450° F. Wash the pan with soap and water. Scour it if it’s too dirty. Dry it. Add some oil to the skillet, wipe the entire pan with a paper towel so that the oil covers everything, in and out. Bake in oven for about 30-60 minutes. Take it out. Let it cool. Wipe clean. Add oil and wipe the entire pan with oil. Heat again for 30-60 minutes. Let it cool. Wipe it clean. You can repeat the oil and heat once more if you like, or you can stop.
You’ll still need a small amount of oil when cooking so it won’t stick.
Wash it like you would wash any metal skillets. Warm water, dish soap, and a plastic scrub brush. Don’t use a metal scour pad since it’s not necessary unless it hasn’t been used for a long time and there’s rust on it. Dry it so water can’t form rust with the metal.
You’ll need to re-season the pan periodically, maybe once or twice a year or when rust shows up. Who wants to taste rust on their food.
