How do you feel about the growing toleration to “gay” and lesbian clergy in the Catholic Church?

How long before we see a transgender Pope do you think?

    Why not?

Celibacy is an unnatural idea, it must breed immense frustration.

Opening up the church to new and modern ideas will make it far more capable of withstanding the onslaught from other religions such as Islam and even the Jehovah’s and Mormons who are spreading their wings all over the world.

And transgender will become equally accepted soon and rightly so.

So there is no reason why we cannot have a Catholic transgender Pope eventually.

    But don’t hold your breath....

I don't know parallel dimension you live in, but in ours the Catholic Church doesn't have female priests. Second, they don't tolerate gay people in the clergy, period. What they have tolerated in the past are pedophiles.

Here's a news flash, I can understand why you might have missed it, as the conservatives in the church certainly don't live it and gives the church it's bad name, but the catholic church is not against lgbtq people, they are against anyone who is active in the community.  Nor is the catholic church open to pro lgbtq interpretations of scripture, or those that hold them, due to conservative politics and the churches authoritarianism structure.

I pray for lgbt rights in the Catholic every day on my rosary.

The church needs its lgbt members both clergy and lay people. We can help the church grow and be more inclusive. The truth is the church has always been something of a gay organization. So many past and present clergy are lgbt - the vast majority of whom have kept their vows. How great it could be if they could still keep their vows - yet live openly. And hopefully the day will come before I die when same sex marriages will be performed in the church.

I've had sex with a few very hot priests.

So I agree with tolerating them.

    They make great man-to-man lovers.

But most of them are big old Bottoms.

    This is a terrible idea!

It is unholy and against all of the teachings of the bible.

Everything that I have read turns my stomach.

These twisted, sick perverts must be rooted out of the church.

As for the Pope accepting these people into the church?

I cannot understand this decision of his and if he continues along this path it will be the end of our church as we know and love it!

    A “transgender” Pope?

God will not allow such a mockery!

I think that it is not before time!

Gay priests have always been around and no doubt there were plenty of Lesbian nuns too.

We live in the 21st century.

We can no longer go on like Queen Victoria who refused to accept that there was such a thing as Lesbianism and yet signed laws against male Homosexuality.

It might go a long way to addressing the problem of rampant pedophilia which exists in some sectors of the church.

    As for a transgender Pope!

We have had a black President in the USA..

We can only wait and hope!
