Anyway my father didn't mean that electrons DO NOT exist? But that you cannot grasp or touch them, like a mist?

Electricity works when a Current is sent through a wire

You would know about it by grabbing the Live end of one

The Electrons dont actually flow, like water

When excited they excite the next electron and so on

Eletricitity is best when used in Series and Alternating Current

They can't be 'touched' like a stone or water but they can be moved and influenced by electric or magnetic fields.  I spend my life counting electrons for a living and making them tell me everything they could.  It was (and is) fun.
