Nothing is forever... In this case, it's likely that there simply wasn't enough revenue from ads for Verizon... A shame.
I've learned a lot on this site; some amazing discoveries happened while we were here, and I had hoped it would've continued. I hold a lot of respect for many of the folks here, and still miss the answers of Geoff G - he knew an awful lot, and I learned tons from him.

Yes it is most definitely the fault of the universe. Just think if the Big bang had not happened we could still have Yahoo Answers.
Another reason could be Yahoo Answers is not making Verizon any money and they thought what is the point in throwing money away on a forum where such incredibly stupid questions are posed.

Answers pissed off God by removing the Reply Button. Everyone had a hissy fit about that blunder. Just kidding, Answers isn't revenue generating, watch it come back with a paid membership.
