What do you think of France banning wearing the hijab in public?

    I think it's the burqa they banned.

    Yeah, it is:   "In April 2011, France became the first European country to impose a ban on full-face veils .. . "

    I think its a great idea and all other countries should also ban it

    If they ban the hijab, they should also ban hats and dark sunglasses if the underlying rationale is to legally mandate that the head should be uncovered.  But I don't see the need or the point in doing this.  What another person chooses to put on their own head doesn't bother me in the slightest, and it shouldn't bother anyone else either.

    Democracy is secular  wearing Hijab is the right in religious believe of the French people in that country.So France is not secular.

    I think it's typically ignorant of them.  France is very well known as the most racist country on earth, second only to america. What harm comes from wearing a hijab?

    France is not part of the Western Democratic tradition. It is only to be expected that the French would allow their politicians to tell them how to dress.
