I'm not religious, but if any deity exists, I want to give them a chance to reach me. What would I need to do to find such a deity if they?

You don't do anything.  It is up to the deity to make itself known.

But, since the deity is an all powerful existence it does not have to, nor need to.  You are nothing, but a speck of sand an a beach of eternity.
