You do realise that this question has been asked probably over a thousand times in that last 2 days, right?
If you already know what the purpose of this site is, then surely you would know that other people have been asking, since they've announced it globally.

..imo only.....It is a PRIVATE BUSINESS who has made a decision after much deliberation I am sure.

New laws are coming out that will hold social media sites responsible ( libel) to clean up what is posted ( racism. slander, abuse ,porn etc...FAST or face fines = $$$$$$$$$$$
