If there is no afterlife, why do some have a consciousness that surpasses nature amorality?

This world is filled with suffering. Nature doesn’t care. It can’t care. Why are some people so well aware of this world of suffering and morally inclined? Certainly we didn’t get morals from nature. Makes me wonder if our awareness surpasses death. What do you think?

Updated 1 day ago:

“All morality comes from empathy“ okay so if nature didn’t give us that, will that awareness surpass nature?

Ugh I don’t think people get me.

No one has "a consciousness that surpasses nature amorality", whatever you imagine that means. Human get our views of morality from the history of human tribes and cultures. All morality comes from empathy and the striving of groups of humans to maximize their own survival. All of it. Every so-called 'moral' imperative you can think of.
