which college?? Please help?
I’m struggling choosing which college would be better/which I would have a bigger chance at having a better future with.
Option 1 is a really popular and good university in my state, really good for computer science too (which is what i want to major in). I was accepted there but not into the major. If I went there, I would have enough scholarship money to be without debt. And I also would live in an apartment in a really good location (no driving bc i’m too scared to drive). It would also be my chance to be more independent and start adulthood basically. The thing holding me back from going there is just the fact that I wasn’t accepted into the major that I want.
Option 2 is a pretty good university that is located in my city, and I was accepted into the computer science major. I got enough scholarships so that I would have an extra $2k each semester. But I would live at home and would have to be driven to school, so it wouldn’t feel like college and I definitely won’t be very independent. The thing that holds me back from wanting to go here is the lack of independence, and feeling like a failure for going to college in the same city I grew up in.

Go to the better school with the better CS department. Even if accepted into the major at admission, you can still be booted out for poor grades. Go to the good school and do well. You'll get in CS.

Can you get into your intended major? Will they allow you in later if you have excellent grades? Can you get excellent grades. What are the odds you can get into your major?
If you feel you can not or will not get into your major at option 1. Then you need to pick a different major or go to option 2 school. Plenty of student go to college in their home town it near by. Why the heck is that a failure?
Get your driver’s license. Being scared is not an excuse. Pass that exam and start off slowly . Gain confidence until you can drive to school by yourself.
My daughter got her DL around age 20. She was very nervous about driving. Had trouble feeling comfortable or confident. It took time. Now she is driving in highways with no fear. She got the hang of it, you can too.
