With Chauvin's chief of police saying Chauvin 'absolutely' violated policy while restraining Floyd that way after handcuffing, the manslaughter charge is a slam dunk. Chauvin will go to jail for manslaughter at the very least.

You can never know. So much is affected by the prejudices of the jury and on tactics. The idea that a trial should determine the FACTS of a case and be decided on those is quite foreign to American trials these days.

Cop Manual:
If you are dealing with a suspected overdose or mental health crisis, (especially if subject is unarmed and suspected of minor offense) restrain subject and apply a carotid choke for at least 8 minutes.
If a tazer is available, shock subject at least fifty times.
Afterwards, sprinkle with crack if available.
