  • If the stimulus passes, can I amend my tax return?

I filed my taxes this week.   I claimed child tax credits for my kids.   I saw on the news they might increase these credits as part of the next stimulus.  If they pass the stimulus, can I file an amended return to get any additional tax breaks they include?

  • Why is vibration damper pulley wobbling? 2005 Grand Caravan?

Squealing coming from one of the pulleys on this 05 Dodge Grand Caravan.   The pulley noted as vibration damper appears to be wobbling.   Also, power steering resovoire is bubbling all the time.   Doesn't appear to be leaking.   Fluid level looks good.   Tried bleeding the power steering by jacking up front of car and turning wheel, but still bubbling.   Could the pump be going bad and causing the wobble on the damper pulley?

  • Can you qualify for fmla after finalizing an adoption.?

We fostered some boys for a year and then adopted them last Feb of 2019.  I know you can take time off for fmla within 12 months of an adoption placement, but is placement referring to the date the adoption was finalized or the actual date the children came to the parents?  I'm trying to figure out If we could qualify.

  • Am I crazy about covid?

I live in a small town near Auburn, Al.  The schools gave us a choice on virtual vs in person learning for our kids and we chose virtual.   I always wear a mask when I go out.  Most of the parents at my kids school chose in person.   High school and little league football in this area is packed with spectators and kids.  Church parking lots are packed on Sundays and Wednesday nights and dine in restaurants are also packed.   Im seeing less and less people wearing masks at the grocery store.   So, am I the crazy one here for staying at home and masking up when I have to go out or is it everyone else?   When everyone around you is ignoring the pandemic, you start thinking maybe it's just me?   What do you all think?

How to reconnect extension spring on John Deere d110?

This is the black spring under the steering wheel that engages the blades.   Just got the mower back from the repairman who and he didnt hook the spring back up.   Dont want to haul it all the way back to the repair shop if i can hook it up real quick.  Even a picture of one already hooked up would be good.

  • Should I seal my ductwork.?

I have a doublewide mobile home I moved in two years ago.   Using budget billing, my electric bill is 290-300 dollars a month.  The heat pump/ac seems to run constantly even when I set it at 79 degrees in the summer.   The ducts are under the house and most of the joints where a round duct goes into the main air duct are not sealed with tape or mastic.     I could feel cold air blowing out the joints on most of these.    I sealed three spots yesterday with foil tape and mastic.   Is it worth my time to crawl under the house and seal up the rest of the leaks.   There are a lot of leaky joints.  Would my energy savings be significant or not if I sealed everything up tight?

  • What phone should I get?

I just got a 2017 model LG g6 phone and it was brand new, but after a week it shut down with the black screen of death and would not power back on.   I got a refund, but I want to get another more reliable smartphone with similar capabilities.    I don't want to spend over 250-300.  Any ideas? I'm on verizon.

  • What could you put in the middle of a lunch table to make the room quieter?

I teach at an elementary school and our lunchroom is an echo chamber.   It is unbearably loud and the kids talk louder because of the echo, making things worse.   Acoustic panels would cost thousands of dollars which we don't have.   I was wondering,   if we covered a cardboard box with sound absorbing foam and placed it in the center of each round table.   Do y oh think this would help to lower the decibel level?

  • Can I record myself teaching in Georgia?

I want to record myself teaching for the purpose of critiquing myself and letting my academic coach watch the tape to help me improve my teaching methods. I would let the students know ahead of time we are being filmed. I intend to delete these tapes after I have watched them and taken some notes. Is this legal in Georgia USA?

  • Does my child need additional medical insurance if she is on medicaid?

I adopted a baby after a year in foster care and she is qualified to be on medicaid until the age of 18 due to her being born with narcotics in her system (qualifies her as special needs). Should I add her to my Blue Cross policy or is the medicaid sufficient for her medical needs? Is there any difference in coverage depending on where we are? We live in Alabama. If she gets sick in another state, is she covered?

  • Do I need a whole new chain for my swingset?

I just bought a swingset second hand from craigslist and the chains on the kids swings don't reach low enough to the ground. Do I need to buy a whole new length of chain or can I just add a foot to the top of each chain? Would this make a difference in the strength of the chains? Just trying to save a little money on chain.
