Am I better off legally intervening in a school fight or allowing students to fight while I call for help?

If two students in my Elementary class break out into a fight would I be more likely to be sued if I tried to pull them apart or if I called the principal to come break it up?

Find out what your school policy is. I would think it would be better to intervene beforr somebody got seriously hurt

I`d call for help first then try to break it up if it could be safely done. Depends on how rough it gets for you might get sued for touching them or not touching them . Just keep yelling "Help !!!" and "Stop!!!" ( "Fire" not really a good choice though.)

Sounds like you shouldn't be in charge of a class at all.
